Ursula Scholz was born in Castrop-Rauxel / Germany in 1957. She attended the University
of Freiburg between 1975 and 1978, studying the French language, geography and
pedagogics. After university she took technical classes in goldsmithing at the Pforzheim
Design College and remained there for four years studying jewelry design with Professor
Reiling and Professor Ullrich, in whose atelier she had the opportunity to broaden her
practical experience.
In 1983 Ursula Scholz received her Master's Degree in designing, and founded her own atelier
in Frankfurt in 1984. At this time she began to exhibit in several shows throughout Europe, including
Munich, Frankfurt and Basel. Since1993, she has been exhibiting in the New York and Las Vegas
shows and is distributing her pieces throughout the United States.
In 1997 Ursula Scholz moved her headquarters into a turn of the century, stately villa in Schöneiche,
Germany, bordering the capital city of Berlin, where she opened a showroom in 1999. Over the
years Ursula Scholz has received several awards, including the 1999 Awardfor Innovative Design
from the International Design Center, Essen, Germany. |
